3 – SUCCESSFULLY WATERING PELARGONIUMS
Once planted, balcony geraniums need regular watering. However, don’t overwater them, as this can cause the roots to rot. The trick is to wait until the surface of the soil is dry before watering again.
4 – GERANIUM DISEASES AND PESTS
Hardy geraniums are vigorous plants that are rarely affected by disease. However, they can be attacked by powdery mildew, which leaves white spots on their foliage. Small slugs are particularly fond of geranium plants. Consider setting up beer traps to limit infestations and prevent excessive moisture around the plants.
If you choose pelargoniums to decorate your balconies, be aware that they are often attacked by various pests such as whiteflies, snails or even red spiders, especially during periods of heat.
